Director of Wasington State Licensing To Retire

Liz Luce, Washington State Department of Licensing Director, announced that she will retire on June 30, 2011.

Luce told her staff  that she desires to spend more time with her family.

Her accomplishments while serving as Washington State Department of Licensing Director include:

• Creating the first enhanced driver license, which can be used as an alternative to a U.S. passport when traveling through U.S. land and sea border crossing stations.
• Expanding online services, which reduced or eliminated the need for many customers to go to driver licensing offices.
• Reducing costs by creating email tab reminders.

1. Always wear a life jacket and make sure that it is the proper size.

4. Wear clothes for the water temperature, not the air temperature.
5. In the case of capsizing, stay with the boat. It will still provide a degree of flotation and will assist rescuers in finding you.
